City of Melville, Perth,
WA

Why Visit?

South of the river,  the City of Melville is spectacularly liveable. About 10-15 minutes from Perth CBD and east of Fremantle this gem of an area has great cafes, pubs, farmers markets, cycle paths and a stunning jetty to enjoy everything the Swan river has to offer.

Why locals love it

Cafes and Restaurants

The Little Stove | Delicious food and coffee using fresh and local produce. A favourite for this local.

Milano’s  | The best pizza! Find this gem in Palmyra.

The Neighbourhood | Amazing coffee and food that’s got flair. The Neighbourhood in Attadale opens in the morning for breakkie and  lunch with the kitchen closing at 2pm (open until 3pm). It has a cute bottle shop which is open a bit later.

Cheeky Boy Espresso | Another favourite spot for coffee. Open for breakkie and lunch in Applecross, the breakfast wrap and truffle fries for lunch are the best!

Outdoor

Bicton Baths are pretty special. The baths are semi enclosed and the water is usually crystal clear. Great for stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing / kayaking, fishing, swimming and jumping off the jetty.

Bicton Pool overlooks the swan river and is popular for water polo.

Point Walter is perfect for a family day out.

There are walking and cycle paths all along the river and you can cycle from Perth CBD to Fremantle with no need to venture onto busy roads.

Pubs and Bars

Leopold Hotel | close to Fremantle on Canning highway is a great spot to catch up with mates and have a craft beer. This iconic venue has cosy couches, big screen TV and a relaxed vibe to chill out and chat the night away.

Clancy’s Fish Pub, Canning Bridge | has great food and craft beer. There is often live music and it’s always relaxed and fun.

Legends Pub | a staple pub in Attadale that always serves up good food and drinks.

Markets

There are great local markets including:

Palmyra Western Farmers Markets | Sunday 8am – 12pm. 60 McKimmie Road, Palmyra.

Melville Rotary Markets | Sunday 6am – 10am, Waddell Rd, Bicton
